So I tried this wax the first time & got not HT. I'm baffled at the past reviews regarding no HT. BASF Update Info. In the medium straight sided jars (which hold 5.8 oz i believe) I get around 40 hours of burn time. Heat jars to 170° but not necessary for tins. My attention was first directed towards soy wax as it was considered to be the best compared to paraffin and beeswax.  Paraffin wax is derived from petroleum, coal or oil shale and is not sustainable or environmentally friendly. The batch I received is far too soft for wax cubes. It has an amazing scent throw and dyes very well. I don’t think CS should recommend ECO wicks for this wax especially when there are better options. Not noticeable on some coloros, but it is on most of them. Here's five reasons why coconut wax candles are much better than soy candles. Mix the wax before adding FO to make sure all of the additives have melted even if the wax is crystal clear. I have made several batches of 8 oz candle tins and actually just did an all day test burn on one; the IGI 6006 with an Eco 2 wick burns the wax evenly without any tunneling AND burns all the way to the bottom of the tin. I must tell you that the scent throw of 6006 is definitely superior and I will not be switching. 1.5 ounces beeswax (find beeswax here) 3 ounces avocado oil (find avocado oil here) 3 ounces coconut oil (find unrefined coconut oil here) But honestly, I'm not in a hurry to change up the mixture. I could see that happening at 140 or less, but not 175! If you care about the quality of your products, we definitely recommend buying this wax from Candle Science, even if you end up paying more. Every single candle pitted horribly. There was a tremendous amount of mushrooming and sooting with both. Using solid oils means that your mixture is already thicker than usual when you begin. If you’re pouring 8 Oz jars figure out where in the jar you want the wax to stop and weigh how much wax will give you that perfect amount of pour keeping in mind that you have to factor in the FO in that calculation. I am using about 1 oz scent / lb of wax and this seems to be plenty! Get the best of both worlds with IGI's 6006. I tried again. After test burning the CD wicks with this wax, I find the Eco 8 wicks work best, better HT, etc., I just have to keep them trimmed. But the hot throw is basically non existent. I use a heat gun to get rid of my holes and can cover some of the frosting with labels. QUICKLY add your fragrance oil and stir; remember, when you add your fragrance oil it will drop the temp of your wax VERY QUICKLY! The floss itself is nylon so that part’s not biodegradable, but it is coated in organic coconut oil, and organic carnauba wax which is derived from a specific type of palm tree. The CT is ok to nice. The good news is, even if the wax has melted from being outside, this will not affect the quality or burn of your finished candles. I've got Huckleberry fragrance (from a different supplier) going right now at 2oz/lb (the highest I'm willing to go, slightly higher than recommended) and I can't smell it AT ALL hot or cold. I tried csn 14, but got a Pretty disappointed in this wax. Just don't know where to go with this. I made candles in Ball jelly jars with a diameter of about 2.3". This wax is the best of both, better glass adhesion, vibrant colors, good H/C throw, and quicker turn around time for me (can ship in 2 weeks instead of 3). But just think about it.... if ECO is not recommended for Parrafin, and IGI6006 is mostly parrafin.... why would anyone expect these wicks to work well with this wax? I made over 30 candles without a hitch. I started off using GB444 but was frustrated with the scent throw, appearance and curing times. We gwt no sinkholes or any other problems when pouring.
